HRF: Hello to everybody! I am a secondary school teacher in a small town in Switzerland. http://www.niniho.ch/eichi/

ESN: Hello HRF! It is great to see you at this forum! Could you tell about education system in Switzerland, please?

HRF: ESN пишет: Could you tell about education system in Switzerland, please? School system in Switzerland is very complicated! We have about 25 different systems, because every Kanton has it's own system. In the Kanton Zurich we have two years of Kindergarten at the age of six, then six years of primary school and three years of secondary school. Very good pupils can go to the gymnasium after the sixth primary class. They can do the short gymnasium after the second or the third class of secondary school as well. Then it's two years shorter and lasts only four years. 80-90% of the pupils go to secondary school in two or three different levels and after three years they choose a profession and start an apprenticeship that lasts 2 - 4 years depending on the standards of the future job. We start school after five weeks of summer holidays in August. The first term lasts till October, our two weeks holiday in fall. Then, between Christmas and New year we have about ten days off but the second term lasts until February, the winter holiday. The third term is until spring holiday 2 weeks in May and the fourth till the middle of July.

MAF: Hello Hans-Ruedi! I am so glad you're so active at this forum Could you tell how you use IT for your lessons? Do you use any CDs?

HRF: We have Audio CD's for our lessons with listening comprehension and other tasks, corresponding with the book. And we have a training program every 7th Unit. But they are working on a new book, because of the earlier beginning of English lessons in primary school.

LB: Hello, Hans-Ruedi! I'm really pleased you can help us to know more about school system in your country. And what about teachers? Are teachers the same every where? Or totally different? Help us to find out! Tell us: when and how they work and study, what else they do in a typical day. All the best!!!

HRF: MAF пишет: Could you tell how you use IT for your lessons? We have a computer-room with 16 i-macs (look at the photo). When we have training lessons with computer programs in French, English or even Maths, we can go there, or when students write texts in German like their letters of application. The responsible teacher for IT at our school gave us a plan with IT projects we must/can do with our students in the 1st and 2nd class, to learn the basics. In the 3rd class (9th graders) students can choose a subject called "Informatik" where they learn more details about "Word", "Excel", "Powerpoint", "File Maker", "Photoshop" etc. Beside we have the possibility to work with laptops in groups. They have a wireless connection to the server and we can use them in our classroom whenever they aren't used by another teacher. There is a little iron wheel-cupboard with a dozen of laptops on each floor for about 60 students (photo). Last but not least there are one or two computers in special rooms for groups next to our classrooms. IT is also very useful for teachers. We need it for school organisation such as timetables, lists, evaluating sport results or calculating marks etc.

филолог: Вот интересно, у нас так будет?

HRF: http://www.slideshare.net/guestfa8c20/industialisierung Let me introduce my presntation for History lesson. It is about Industrialisation or Industrial Revolution as we often say, even if it lasted about a century. It is in German and English = Immersiver Unterricht. Immersiver Unterricht means htat you use English in other school subjects, too, such as Biology, History, Physics...

LB: I have seen your presentation for History and I would like to aploud. It is really interesting. I hope to find school in our region, where they use English in other school subjects, soon. Some Russian schools have such experience. Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Vic:

Valentina: It's really interesting

Boktor: Dear Hans-Ruedi! I like your technique of making pesentations. It's deep and useful. I'm interested to know if every student makes projects and how many projects per year he/she can make
